Pathology and Immunology Transgenic Knockout and Micro-Injection Core

Overview of Services

The Pathology Department Micro-injection core has provided technical expertise generating genetically modified mice since 1994.  We perform the service on a for fee basis to Wash U investigators and offsite Investigators.  We offer many techniques to create genetically modified mouse models using traditional approaches such as standard transgenic production and injection of gene targeted ES cells as well as the latest Zinc Finger Nuclease, TALENS, and CRISPR technologies.  We also offer additional services for embryo cryopreservation, Sperm cryopreservation, storage of frozen sperm and embryos, In Vitro Fertilization, recovery of frozen samples, assisting with importation of frozen samples and embryo rederivation.
